New YouTube Channel!
New YouTube Channel just launched! You'll find a new section of this website, as well. I'm excited to share a wealth of information I've gained over the years about natural healing. I'll be talking a lot about The Five Elements of Natural Healing I've developed, based off of Traditional Chinese Medicine's Five Element Theory.
I'll also be documenting my own experience using natural medicine to heal myself of a life-threatening illness, in real-time. You may notice on my News page, that for the last several years, things having been happening far and few between. That's because, as I just mentioned, I've been facing a life-threatening illness, fighting a literal war for my body every single day.
I've been yearning so long to get to the point where I can focus more of my efforts on The Strong Foundation and move this vision forward, but my health challenges take up so much of my time and energy. If I focus on one, I get pulled away from the other, it seems. So therefore, I've decided to bring both of them together and combine them.
In reality, I wouldn't have been able to develop the work that I do if it were not for the health challenges I've faced, especially my work in Flora Consciousness. Therefore, it's completely appropriate to bring both my works and my efforts to get well together, using myself as an example to demonstrate how natural healing works.
My health challenges should not be viewed as something negative. In fact, as I mentioned, if it were not for the challenges I've experienced, I wouldn't have the knowledge I've gained. I suppose I was born onto the path of the "wounded healer". In fact, my Astrogeomantic Chart has what's called a "Goat Blade" star in my Health Palace, which indicates some sort of sacrifice. So, it makes sense, as this all started for me when I was very young. I've gone into complete remission twice, and some years have been better than others. I'm working smart to have this be the final time I go into remission permanently and get completely well. I've learned a lot! and It's only a matter of being able to acquire all the resources needed to be able to implement all I've learned.
In this day and age, most children don't get to grow up without developing some type of chronic illness, actually. The last statistic I read said that 54% of children in the U.S. have at least one chronic illness today. That is definitely not right nor natural! Through my health challenges, I've discovered why that is. What I have experienced on a very intense level, actually affects 90% of people in industrialized countries to some degree. Some are suffering much more severely than others, and seeking and searching for answers. I was also desperately seeking answers when this first started affected me the most in 2000, more than a decade before I went into complete remission the second time. I found answers, and it's a part of my life's mission to share them with anyone who can benefit.
So, I invite you to check out my new YouTube channel, Chronic Healing. If what you see inspires you, show me some love and subscribe, like and share my videos!
Also visit the Chronic Healing section of my website too. There's a support portal there, where you can find out how to help me win this war for my body as soon as possible. I cherish every drop of your attention towards that effort, truly.
Chronic Healing is definitely related to my work with Flora Consciousness also, so be sure to check that out, as well. There's information there that everyone needs.

My New Name: KATYAYANI
Greetings! I appreciate your visiting this site. I am the founder of The Strong Foundation, and as of February 5th 2019, I am now assuming my new name, given to me in the spring of 2016 by my spiritual teacher, H.H. Sri Sri 1008 Mahamandaleshwar Adishakti Satigiri Ji Maharaj, whom we lovingly refer to as Guru Maa. I've been practicing Surat Shabd Yoga since 2004, and in 2014 I connected with Guru Maa, enriching my practice tenfold with the practice of Shiv-Shakti Yoga.
Guru Maa has named me:
Katyayanibetha or Katyayani
In places I need a semblance of my legal name, you'll also see me write my new name as Katya, which is short for both Katyayani and Katherine. I prefer to be called Katyayani.
What a precious gift! Guru Maa has named me after a goddess who represents all of the things I've been working on my entire life, represented by many things you'll find within this website. From the songs in which I've written about the natural laws of creation, to my work with Phamily Foundations to ensure a happy and peaceful marriage life and so many other things. I don't know if Guru Maa has ever even seen my website, but she really knows me from the inside out! Having her love and guidance is the highest, most treasured blessing I could ever receive. I'm so humbled and grateful to Guru Maa for giving me such a beautiful, powerful name!
There's more about what my new name represents and the goddess that Guru Maa named me after following, and here is an image I created about it. Goddess Katyayani Maa is often depicted riding a lion, with a lotus in one hand, a sword in another, with blessing and protecting gestures made with her other two hands.
Katyayani is that which is born out of the seer aspect of consciousness. Everything that happens and unfolds before us, referred to as Prapancha, is not limited only to what is visible. That which is invisible and cannot be perceived by the senses is far greater than we can even imagine and comprehend. That energy that sees beyond the senses and knows beyond logic is Katyayani. Katyayani is the divine force or principle of the un-manifest Divinity that arises in the subtle layers of creation against negativity and for the purpose of restoring Dharma. It is said that the anger of a wise person only brings about greater good; whereas even the love of an ignorant or foolish person can only cause more trouble. That is why Devi Katyayani represents a beneficial and uplifting force.
Katyayani is all about The Natural Laws of Creation - referred to as Dharma. Dharma is more than just a sense of duty, as the word is usually interpreted to mean. Duty is more like an obligation to do something. Dharma is actually more the wisdom to know cause and effect, action and consequence, along with the understanding and desire to make choices that will cause the effects we want to have happen.
Katyayani is believed to be very compassionate and a giver of boons. She provides immense strength at the physical level, as well. Katyayani is especially venerated by devotees for getting rid of marital issues and making married life more comfortable. The Katyayani Mantra for marriage has originated from the Bhagavata Purana. 'Gopis' worshiped Maa Katyayani in order to get Krishna as a husband. Katyayani Mantra is primarily used to remove obstacles in love and for a fruitful married life.
Katyayani Maa has been revered throughout time as a symbol of unique strength to female devotees. She inspires women to face challenges, to fight for what is right and the recognition of women's inherent strengths.
Katyayani Maa is known to be the fiercest form of Maa Durga, appearing as a warrior goddess who was born to annihilate the forces destroying the world. Whenever the oppression of demons start dominating the earth, whenever sages, saints and celestial beings get victimized with the torture of the demons, then there is a divine incarnation of supreme energy for the betterment of the world and suppression of the evil. In the same manner, goddess Bhagwati incarnated as Maa Katyayani for the sake of the betterment of the world. She is the one who saved the entire universe from the one of the greatest demons, Mahishasura, by curbing his ego and destroying him along with his army. This divine form of goddess Durga is well known among the devotees in the name of Goddess Katyayani. She grants fearlessness to devotees and also blesses them readily by removing diseases, sorrows, obstacles and guilt. Just by remembering her, one attracts her divine blessings. She is the slayer of demons, and she is the manifestation of the divine energies of Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva - creation, sustenance and transformation. The attention of the three gods combined, manifested itself in the form of energy rays. The rays crystallized in the hermitage of Katysyana Rishi, who gave it proper form - therefore, she is called Katyayani.
The Vamana Purana mentions the legend of Katyayani's creation in great detail: "When the gods had sought Vishnu in their distress, he and at his lead, Shiva, Brahma and the other gods, emitted such flames from their eyes and countenances, that a mountain of effulgence was formed, from which became manifest, Katyayani, refulgent as a thousand suns. Shiva gave Katyayani his trident, Vishnu a Sudarshan Chakra or discus, Varuna, a shankha, a conch-shell, Agni, a dart, Vayu, a bow, Surya, a quiver full of arrows, Indra, a thunderbolt, Kuvera, a mace, Brahma, a rosary and water-pot, Kala, a shield and sword and Visvakarma, a battle-axe and other weapons. Thus, armed and adored by the gods, Katyayani proceeded to the Mysore hills. There, the asuras (demons) saw her, and captivated by her beauty, they so described her to Mahishasura, their king, so that he was anxious to obtain her. On asking for her hand, she told him she must be won in a fight.
"Mahishasura came and fought. Katyayani dismounted from her lion and sprang upon the back of Mahishasura, and with her tender feet, so smote him on the head that he fell to the ground senseless. When she cut off his head with her sword, hence she was called Mahishasuramardini, the Slayer of Mahishasura."
Spiritually, it is said that all the four objectives, Dharma (right way of living, duty, virtue), Artha (sense, goal, purpose or essence), Kama (desire, wish, longing) and Moksha (emancipation, liberation or release from the cycle of death and rebirth) are in easy reach of a devotee who places their attention on Katyayani Maa with devotion and faith. Such a devotee becomes immune from all diseases, sorrows and fears. It is said there is no better and easier way than attending to the presence of Mother Katyayani for the destruction of negative karma accumulated in previous lives.
NATURE'S CURRENT PATTERNS
A language that enables us to simply communicate about the different qualities and resulting tendencies at certain points in nature's cycles.
Yang in the Grain Sprouts qi node agrees to leadership through education - yang qi agrees to stay in the channels. Yang matures and takes on a less impulsive quality - it becomes steady in its discipline. The Prince leads his first successful campaign. What were fertile fields now show sprouts. The promise is strong. Trees and shrubs flourish. There is a 'small fullness'. The sages gather herbs from mountains in peace. Some early fruits are harvested.
The qi is best at 10AM. Get up early and practice Neigong in the shade, away from the wind. Several short sessions in the day would be best. Bucket bathe before bed, and retire shortly after dark. Working closely with others on big projects is auspicious. Be a part of something big - something that concerns more than your personal comfort and routines.

YIN METAL SNAKE
During this moon, influenced by Metal Snake Qi, we have more of tendency to be bright, sensitive and insightful. Up through the first quarter waxing moon, however, things could be difficult and sorrowful. We may be more socially active, yet remain aloof in fear of betrayal. We could have more of a heightened sensitivity that may give us visions and surround us with subtle beings - some of which are helpful, and others who may not mean us well. Therefore, it's important to remember to keep Simran or whatever other protective mantras you might have, this moon. Our mental health could be precarious this moon, especially if our parents and/or a partner do not protect us. Leaving our bodies could come suddenly, and special care should be taken to prevent suicides, due to the interference of unsettled karmic connections that have already left their bodies and harmful entities in the unseen realms. This moon is well suited for monasticism.
To help calm challenges and conflict during this moon, tap into the qi of the earth element by making sure to nourish and care for yourself and your loved ones well. Eat well, relish in your comfort zone, and stay grounded. Snake qi is an expression of the fire element, and is expansive. Metal qi contracts. Therefore, during this moon, qi is trying to expand and contract at the same time. Earth qi balances this by grounding the two energies expressing themselves in creation at this time. Earth activities such as nourishing well with good, healthy food, staying close to home and closely connected with others who nourish your soul and such will help to mitigate any problems that arise.

YANG METAL RAT
The Rat spoken of in the Lunar Calendar is well known to all Chinese farmers throughout history. If there is grain, rats appear, so rats are linked to prosperity. A rat year is expected to be profitable. Rats always appear in groups and though not individually strong, they can undermine an enormous barn by gnawing and nibbling away at the foundation, piece by piece. This year, as we are influenced by metal rat qi, we are likely to be more social, viewing social life as central to existence. Sociability is required to survive. Our social observation is likely more acute, and this can make us good mimics or actors. We may love 'center stage' more than usual.
Though we may not be as inclined to sensual materialism like last year during the year of the pig, the other water animal archetype, but we may be inclined to hoarding, and if undisciplined, even live in clutter.
We are likely to become more capable in whatever it is that we pursue, as the year goes on. We are more inclined to be sensitive, meticulous and resourceful. We can more likely easily win the attention and support of others. We likely enjoy working hard at any endeavor we devote ourselves to fully - to be in it, to win it. Our ambitions are more likely to be modified by a strong, personal sense of moral and spiritual values.
We may find more enjoyment in independence this year, than usual. We could have a tendency to be ruthlessly calculating in matters of the heart, as well as finance, though.
We may not be without enemies this year, but we should experience relatively even fortunes, nonetheless.
Influenced by metal rat qi, we may find ourselves and those around us more jovial in appearance. However, take care with any tendencies to brood and worry over the slightest things. We could be more susceptible to contagious and common illness this year, but all works out well and our lives aren't negatively affected if we rely on treatments from expert healers and meticulous personal habits, rather than only relying on the direction of the mainstream narrative pushed by corporate interests.
This year, when we are charged, we can tap into the rat qi of being charming, diligent, perseverant, methodical, social, cooperative, discrete, frugal, observant, capable and fun loving.
When we are depleted this year, we'll need to do our best to take extra special care to not be too complaining, nervous, nit picky, annoyingly analytical, stingy, scheming, cowardly, overly concentrated - even to the point of being mono-maniacal - and selfish.
