The Lincoln School Story: The Battle for School Integration in Ohio

Please support the great work my son is doing! Watch & share this new documentary on the Lincoln School Marchers. You can watch it for free here:

This new film is brought to you by Ohio Humanities and the Highland County Historical Society. My son’s organization, Hillsboro Against Racism & Discrimination (HARD), has always made it one of its top priorities to help spread this story far and wide, as it’s a huge piece of Civil Rights history that’s often overlooked, even at the local level. Please give this a share to help bring attention to the brave women and children who fought long and hard for two years to end segregation at Webster Elementary in my hometown of Hillsboro, Ohio. It was the 1st school to end racial segregation in the entire northern region of the US.

These “Marching Mothers” marched through town with their children every day, five days a week for two solid years before their case was heard in the Supreme Court. My son's great-grandmother was one of the Marching Mothers, and thanks to his efforts, a memorial bench has now been placed in the center of town with their names and photos. The last surviving Marching Mother, Elsie Steward, even got to witness its unveiling at 104 years old. Many of the Marching Children were present.

This really does need more awareness. I grew up in the town this happened in, and we didn't even learn about this in history class at school! Please share far and wide & support the efforts of my son & his organization.
